As the head of design, I'm asked more often than I expect where I get ideas from. The short answer is everywhere. Literally, everywhere.
For example, I was working on a project not for Rogue Panda (blasphemy, I know!) and was stuck. I had spent nearly 3 hours trying to build something that was not working no matter what I tried. Then, I had to go to the bathroom and as I'm taking care of business, the solution hit me. Legit, who does that?!
I've had ideas show up in dreams. I've had ideas pop-up during meetings, while listening to music, watching TV or a movie, out grocery shopping... They come from anywhere and everywhere. I've even had ideas submitted by friends and family, with varying degrees of success.
Over the years I've talked with other up and coming artists/designers and they too have asked this question. I'm honest with them: be open to anything. I think that's a good mantra for life, too. Be open. Be willing. Be accepting. Be ready for anything and it will happen.
I think this openness to any and all ideas and concepts is what makes Rogue Panda unique in our offerings. We have a little bit of everything for everyone. Sure, we try to cash in on the pop-culture and quirky, corny twists of life, but there is always a chance for unexpected. Maybe you came here looking for a political statement and walked away with a shirt based off Revenge of the Nerds?! We have both of those, by the way. Maybe you're into vintage baseball or hockey or basketball. We have those, too.
I know our great team is still adding products to the site, but is there a design yet that has captured your heart, soul, or imagination? Or do you have an idea floating around in your head that you think might work? Let us know!
